Access Control PSU

The power supply must be selected to power all the devices and any ancillary items within the access control system. Ensure the PSU provides compatible power 12Vdc or 24Vdc to operate the devices on the system. For networked doors whilst a PSU may be used to power more than 1 door it is good practice to dedicate 1 PSU per door. Any failure of the supply will then affect only the door connected to it. Check operating voltage of all items is the same and select a power supply which exceeds the cumulative mA rating of the components of the system. Select according to power and current ratings and specify back up if required. Be aware that some shear magnets draw a high "lock-up" current.
