Product details

RS PRO HSS-TiN 25 Piece Drill Bit Set

RS PRO offers this exceptional Drill Bit Set made from HSS coated in Titanium for high-performance, offering more resistance than regular HSS bits. It contains a great selection of the most commonly used diameters from 1 mm to 13 mm in 0.5 mm increments. These High-Speed Steel (HSS) with the Titanium coating are constructed from a single piece of high-speed steel, thus reducing breaking and blunting under heat or stress. The coating gives the bits a very high surface hardness to help penetrate tough materials Manufactured in accordance with DIN 338 for high precision tolerances and geometric accuracies.

Typical Applications

HSS-TiN coated bits are highly corrosive resistant and the coating allows for a significant reduction in frictions between the bit and workpiece. The drill bits are suitable for non-ferrous metals, which include aluminium, copper, brass, zinc and iron. It can be used for drilling applications involving plastic, wood and masonry however, the performance is affected.

Features and Benefits

The shaft is equal to the diameter of the drill for low breakages
Titanium coating improves the hardness of the bit
135-degree split point starts fast and reduces drill walking
Cuts faster and lasts longer than regular HSS Bits
Ideal for use with most power drills
Supplied in a moulded ABS storage case

FAQ's

Q. What does jobber mean?

A. The word jobber specifies the length of the drill bit. This generally means the length of the entire drill bit itself is significantly longer for diameter it has. As an example, a mechanic drill bit will have a much shorter flute and therefore have a much smaller overall length.

Q. What is the difference between HSS-TiN and HSS?

A. HSS drill bits are suitable for most drilling applications, they are able to stand up to high temperatures. typically used for drilling a wide variety of metals.
HSS-TiN drill bits are coated in Titanium, which hardens the surface as well as acting as a lubricant for high-speed work. This ensures a longer life compared to standard HSS drill bits with less heat build-up.
