Swann-Morton Stainless Steel Scalpel Handle

Introducing a Swann-Morton scalpel handle, ergonomically designed and made from stainless steel. This handle incorporates clear measurements on the reverse side to aid training, surgical and trauma investigations. Swann-Morton handles and blades are also very popular in scale modelling applications where intricate cuts, material removal and attention to detail is important.

How to attach a blade

It is vitally important to follow the correct procedure when attaching a blade to keep yourself safe. When attaching the blade you should grip the blade with needle holders away from the cutting edge. Hold the handle with your other hand with the bayonet facing upwards. Align the slot in the blade with the handle and slide the blade back until you hear an audible click.

How to remove a blade

To remove the surgical blade hold the handle in one hand with the blade facing downwards, grip the blade with needle holder in the other hand at the back edge of the blade then lift and slide the handle away.
