RS PRO Low Profile Potentiometer Knob

These low-profile potentiometer knobs from our own RS PRO brand are suitable for a 6.35mm shaft. With Brass bushings and a high-quality plastic casing, these potentiometer knobs are durable and practical. With a range of compatible knob skirts available, they are ideal for a variety of applications and environments.

Features and Benefits

• Resists shock, vibration, or accidental movement
• No special mounting hardware or tools required
• Made of highest quality materials
• Occupies minimum panel space

Applications

There are many different uses of a potentiometer. The three main applications of a potentiometer are:

• Comparing the emf of a battery cell with a standard cell
• Measuring the internal resistance of a battery cell
• Measuring the voltage across a branch of a circuit

How does potentiometer work?

Most potentiometer knobs are simply fixed on manually with a simple push by fitting it to the shaft. They either have a knob, screw, grub, or slider as a fixture that is used as a control element to vary the resistance between the middle terminal and either one of the outer terminals for the potentiometer.
